Product Description

This is the limit switch for the top stop bar found on many challenger 2 post lifts made from the mid 90’s to current models produced today.  Also fits VBM and Spirit models. This style challenger lift limit switch is easily identified by its tube housing that the limit switch sits in with a Allen headed shoulder bolt going through it and into the column. The switch is mercury filled and when the  overhead limit tube get pushed in the up direction towards the overhead the switch disconnects continuity to prevent the lift from sending vehicles through the overhead of the lift.

Many times these switch will fail intermittently prior to completely going out. A simple continuity test can identify a bad switch. Turn off power to lift and isolate the mercury switch wires from the lift. If the switch has continuity in the normal hung position (limit switch bar drooping towards the ground) your Mercury switch is not causing the motor to fail or stay off. We recommend testing that the switch has no continuity  ( with power off to lift) when the limit switch bar is pushed up towards the overhead.
